Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical News Category Analyst to join our Digital Media Support team. This is a 100% remote position. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accurate categorization and classification of digital news content, directly impacting the quality and precision of our media insights. You will work with diverse news sources, employing a keen eye for detail to maintain consistency and integrity across our extensive digital media database. This position requires strong analytical skills, a passion for news and current events, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and accurately categorize digital news articles, videos, and other content based on predefined taxonomies and guidelines.
- Monitor news trends and identify emerging categories or content types requiring new classification approaches.
- Collaborate with content acquisition and data science teams to refine categorization rules and improve data quality.
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits of classified content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provide feedback and contribute to the development of tools and processes for efficient content categorization.
- Stay informed about current events, news cycles, and media landscape changes relevant to content classification.
- Assist in resolving categorization discrepancies and support ad-hoc data analysis requests.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills with an exceptional eye for detail.
- Proficiency in understanding and applying complex categorization rules and taxonomies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
