Job Description

This unique role focuses on providing companionship, social interaction, and emotional support to our cherished residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage residents in meaningful one-on-one conversations.
  • Provide companionship and active listening during social interactions.
  • Share a cup of coffee or tea with residents, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
  • Participate in light recreational activities or hobbies with residents, as appropriate.
  • Offer emotional support and a friendly presence.
  • Assist residents with light, non-medical tasks such as reading mail or organizing small items (no personal care).
  • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Report any significant changes in a resident's well-being or behavior to the appropriate staff member.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong empathy and patience.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • A genuine interest in the well-being and stories of senior individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a companionship, customer service, or volunteer role with seniors.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of the needs and challenges faced by older adults.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (not required, but a plus).
