Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior SEO Specialist with a strong focus on Google’s ecosystem to join our dynamic digital marketing team. This is a fantastic remote graduate opportunity for someone passionate about search engine optimisation and eager to kickstart their career with a leading telecommunications company. You will be instrumental in supporting the development and execution of SEO strategies to enhance our organic search visibility and drive traffic to our various digital properties, with a particular emphasis on Google search algorithms and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in keyword research to identify new opportunities and monitor keyword performance using Google Keyword Planner and other tools.
- Conduct technical SEO audits on websites and provide recommendations for improvements, focusing on Google's best practices (Core Web Vitals, mobile-first indexing).
- Support on-page optimisation efforts, including meta tag optimisation, content optimisation, and internal linking strategies.
- Help analyse website performance using Google Analytics and Google Search Console, providing insights and generating reports.
- Monitor competitor SEO strategies and identify industry trends relevant to Google search.
- Collaborate with content, development, and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all digital initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Google algorithm updates and SEO industry changes.
- Assist in the creation and optimisation of Google My Business profiles for local SEO initiatives.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with Google search algorithms and ranking factors.
- Proficiency in using Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- A passion for learning and staying current with digital marketing trends.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous internship or project experience in SEO or digital marketing.
- Familiarity with other SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz).
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
- Google Ads certification or experience with Google Ads campaigns.
