Job Description
XPO Logistics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Local P&D Driver (LTL) to join our stable fleet in Pasco, WA. This is a full-time opportunity for a professional driver looking for a consistent schedule, modern equipment, and a comprehensive benefits package. As a Local P&D Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of less-than-truckload (LTL) freight within the local Pasco area, building strong relationships with our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle for local pickup and delivery of LTL freight.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Load and unload freight using various methods, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling.
- Verify freight against manifests, ensuring accuracy of piece count, weight, and destination.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all required paperwork.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at pickup and delivery locations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and terminal management regarding delivery status, delays, and issues.
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 24 months verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Tanker endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 pounds frequently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL freight operations.
- Forklift certification.
- Familiarity with the Pasco, WA and surrounding areas.
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time delivery.
