Job Description
We are seeking a highly passionate and knowledgeable Music Theory Teacher to join our remote team. This contract position offers the flexibility to work from home and set your own hours, making it an ideal opportunity for experienced educators looking to impact students globally. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging music theory lessons, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a deep understanding of musical concepts for students across various skill levels. This role is 100% remote and requires excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive music theory lessons covering topics such as harmony, counterpoint, form, and analysis.
- Tailor teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles in a remote setting.
- Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback on student assignments and progress.
- Utilize online collaboration tools and digital resources effectively for lesson delivery and student interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Stay updated on current music theory pedagogical practices and integrate them into lessons.
- Communicate regularly with students and Fender Play staff to ensure a positive learning experience.
Required Skills
- Expertise in music theory, including advanced harmony, counterpoint, and ear training.
- Proven experience teaching music theory to diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Strong proficiency with online teaching platforms and virtual communication tools (e.g., video conferencing, digital whiteboards).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule effectively.
- A passion for music education and fostering student growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Music Theory, Music Education, or a related field.
- Experience with music notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, Dorico).
- Familiarity with various musical genres and historical periods.
- Prior experience in remote or online education.
- Teaching certification or equivalent professional credentials.
