Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and physically capable individual to join our team as a Rod & Track Mounter. This role is crucial for various commercial and industrial projects, involving the precise installation of rods, tracks, and associated fixtures. A significant portion of this work will require comfortable and safe operation at heights, utilizing high ladders and other elevated work platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, an eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently mount rods, tracks, and other fixtures according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Operate high ladders, scaffolding, and other aerial work platforms safely and effectively.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools for cutting, drilling, and securing materials.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble components with precision.
  • Conduct pre-task planning and hazard assessments for all work at heights.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Inspect installed structures for quality and compliance with standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor installation issues.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work comfortably and safely at heights using high ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Strong physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and installations.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in construction, commercial installation, or a similar trade.
  • Certification in Working at Heights or equivalent safety training.
  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with different types of mounting hardware and track systems.
