Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Nurse with a strong focus on data analysis and regulatory compliance to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing patient safety, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring adherence to state, federal, and accreditation standards. You will utilize your nursing expertise to identify areas for improvement, collect and analyze data, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement effective quality initiatives. This position requires a passion for evidence-based practice and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement across our network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, projects, and committees across various clinical areas.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret healthcare data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement data collection tools and methodologies to support quality initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, DOH, TJC) and organizational policies.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on quality metrics, compliance status, and improvement project outcomes to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, leadership, and other departments to facilitate the adoption of best practices.
- Provide education and training to staff on quality improvement methodologies, patient safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause analyses and facilitate action planning for adverse events or sentinel events.
- Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations, quality standards, and evidence-based practices.
Required Skills
- Current RN license in Vermont or eligibility to obtain.
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or compliance roles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
- Excellent understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., CMS, TJC, DOH).
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and quality management software.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Certification in Quality Improvement (e.g., CPHQ).
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with specific quality metrics reporting requirements (e.g., HEDIS, meaningful use).
- Experience with statistical software or advanced data visualization tools.
