This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of laminate floor installation from experienced professionals. You’ll gain hands-on training, develop valuable skills, and contribute to transforming homes and businesses. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced floor layers in preparing work areas, including clearing existing flooring and subfloor preparation.
- Learn to measure, cut, and install laminate flooring according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures on job sites.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project flow.
- Continuously learn and apply new techniques and best practices in flooring installation.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and willingness to learn a new trade.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites within the Calgary area.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Basic understanding of measurements and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a general labor, construction, or manual handling role (even if informal).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
