Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our innovative telehealth team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to provide exceptional mental healthcare from the comfort of your home office. As a PMHNP with Kaiser Permanente, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with various mental health conditions across the lifespan. You will manage medication, offer therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care through our advanced telehealth platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments via telehealth.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure continuity of care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as appropriate within a telehealth framework.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted California RN and PMHNP licenses.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- ANCC board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in an outpatient or telehealth setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychopharmacology and various therapeutic modalities.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kaiser Permanente's specific EHR system (e.g., HealthConnect).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) to serve a diverse patient population.
- Prior experience working in a fully remote or hybrid telehealth model.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of mental health (e.g., addiction, child and adolescent psychiatry).
