Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Healthcare Operations Specialist to join our team in Ghent, Norfolk, VA. This role offers a tiered pay structure, starting at $30/hr, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility and expertise. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting various operational functions within our healthcare system, ensuring smooth processes and high-quality service delivery. This position requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a commitment to Sentara’s mission of improving health every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily operational tasks, projects, and administrative duties as assigned by department leadership.
- Process and maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to patient services, staff, or departmental activities.
- Provide advanced administrative support to multiple departments or senior staff, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and report generation.
- Resolve operational issues and inquiries by applying established protocols and escalating complex matters to appropriate personnel.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of departmental operations.
- Train and mentor junior staff members, sharing expertise and best practices (for higher tiers).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
