Job Description

Join our passionate team as an After-School Program Aide with a strong childcare focus. You will play a vital role in providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children and youth during after-school hours, Monday through Friday. This position requires enthusiasm for working with children, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and enriching experience for all club members. You will assist in implementing age-appropriate activities, supervising children, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise club members during various activities, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging and educational after-school programs, including arts & crafts, sports, academic support, and recreational activities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where all children feel valued and supported.
  • Provide guidance and discipline to club members using positive behavior management techniques.
  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and enthusiasm.
  • Communicate effectively with club members, parents, and staff.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe program area and facility.
  • Administer basic first aid and respond to emergencies as needed (training provided).

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for working with children and youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of children effectively and maintain order.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual, with consistent availability Monday-Friday after school.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within a specified timeframe (if not already held).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or after-school setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
