Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a career in logistics and warehousing? Our Apprentice Forklift Driver program offers a unique opportunity to learn a valuable trade from the ground up. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to help you become a certified forklift operator. This role is perfect for individuals who are motivated, eager to learn, and committed to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced distribution center setting. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience operating various types of forklifts while contributing to the smooth flow of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all required training sessions for forklift operation and safety protocols.
- Learn to safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) under supervision.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and moving materials within the warehouse, following strict safety guidelines.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and document discrepancies.
- Perform routine pre-operational checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles are clear and products are stored correctly.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity and efficiency targets.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and technologies.
- Reliable transportation to and from the distribution center.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment (not necessarily forklift operation).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Valid driver's license.
