Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ballistics Expert to join our dynamic team in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. This critical role involves conducting advanced ballistic testing, analysis, and research to support the development and improvement of our land systems and protective solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in internal, external, and terminal ballistics, with a strong understanding of materials science and protective technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze ballistic tests for various materials, components, and systems.
- Perform in-depth forensic ballistics analysis and characterization.
- Develop and validate ballistic models and simulations using specialized software.
- Interpret test data, generate comprehensive reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, research, and development teams to integrate ballistic insights into product design.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and standards in all testing environments.
- Stay current with advancements in ballistics, materials science, and defense technologies.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation on ballistics-related challenges and projects.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ballistics research, testing, or forensics.
- Demonstrated expertise in internal, external, and terminal ballistics.
- Proficiency with ballistic testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw sound conclusions.
- Experience with ballistic simulation software (e.g., ANSYS Autodyn, LS-DYNA, PRODAS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report generation and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Experience with defense or aerospace industry standards and regulations.
- Certifications in forensic ballistics or related specialized fields.
- Familiarity with advanced materials characterization techniques.
