Job Description
Are you passionate about working with young children and looking for a fulfilling part-time role that fits around school hours? Bright Horizons is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Creche Assistant to join our friendly team in Woking. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves to engage with children, ensuring they have a safe, stimulating, and fun experience while their parents or guardians are busy. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting our nursery staff, participating in activities, and maintaining a positive environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the creche, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play activities, storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Help to set up and clear away activities and play areas, maintaining a tidy and organised environment.
- Support children during meal times and snack breaks, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians upon drop-off and pick-up, sharing relevant daily updates.
- Adhere to all Bright Horizons policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining records and observations of children’s progress and activities where required.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with young children (e.g., in a nursery, school, playgroup, or as a parent/babysitter).
- A genuine love for children and a passion for their development and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Understanding of basic child safeguarding principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., NVQ, CACHE).
- Current Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Experience in an Ofsted-regulated childcare setting.
