Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and highly motivated Critical Care Transport Nurse to join our specialized transport team. This high-intensity role involves providing advanced critical care to patients during inter-facility transfers and emergency scene responses. You will operate within a dynamic and challenging environment, utilizing your expertise to manage complex medical situations independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced critical care interventions and monitoring during transport of critically ill or injured patients.
  • Independently assess patient conditions, initiate and modify treatment plans in collaboration with medical control.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of critical care equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
  • Administer medications and perform invasive procedures within scope of practice.
  • Ensure safe patient transport practices, adhering to all protocols and regulations.
  • Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate effectively with paramedics, EMTs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain readiness of transport vehicles and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource to colleagues and community partners.

Required Skills

  • Current RN license in Washington State.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent critical care experience (ICU, ED, or equivalent).
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and equipment in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFRN or CCRN certification.
  • Experience in air medical or ground critical care transport.
  • Paramedic certification.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
