Job Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young children? The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is seeking a dedicated Daycare Aide to join our team in Windsor. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education. While prior experience is a plus, we are committed to providing comprehensive training and development to help you succeed. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Early Childhood Educators with daily program planning and implementation.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning activities.
  • Support children with personal care routines, including meal times and toileting.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
  • Observe and document children's behavior and development as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Genuine love for working with children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a childcare setting (volunteer or paid)
  • Enrollment in or completion of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program
  • Knowledge of child development principles
