Job Description

Are you a dog enthusiast with boundless energy and a passion for working with pets? Dogtopia of Rancho Cucamonga is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Dog Daycare Attendant to join our pack! In this role, you will be responsible for supervising groups of dogs, ensuring their safety, and providing a stimulating and clean environment. This is a hands-on role that requires constant movement, attention to detail, and a genuine love for all breeds and temperaments of dogs. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise large groups of dogs in an open-play environment, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Engage with dogs through play, positive reinforcement, and belly rubs.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by performing regular sanitation tasks, including cleaning up accidents and sanitizing play areas.
  • Monitor dog behavior, identify potential conflicts, and intervene appropriately to prevent fights.
  • Feed dogs according to specific instructions and administer medication as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding dog behavior and facility needs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of dogs and staff.
  • Assist with dog introductions and temperament assessments.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love for dogs and an understanding of dog behavior.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods.
  • Excellent observation and communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes loud, and physically demanding environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting (daycare, kennel, veterinary clinic).
  • Knowledge of various dog breeds and their typical behaviors.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for pets.
