Job Description

Are you a high-energy, enthusiastic individual with a deep love for dogs? Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services is seeking a dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising playgroups, ensuring the safety and well-being of all dogs, and maintaining a clean and positive environment. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent observation skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage various dog personalities. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise dog playgroups of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring safe and appropriate interactions.
  • Monitor dog behavior for signs of stress, illness, or aggression, and intervene appropriately.
  • Facilitate engaging activities and playtime for dogs, encouraging positive social skills.
  • Clean and sanitize daycare areas, kennels, and equipment regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Feed dogs according to specific instructions and administer medication as needed.
  • Handle dog check-ins and check-outs, interacting professionally with pet parents.
  • Provide basic grooming tasks such as brushing and towel drying when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of dog behavior, feeding, and any incidents.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding dog behavior and facility needs.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love for dogs and understanding of animal behavior.
  • High energy level and ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods.
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and handling dogs of all sizes.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dog daycare, boarding facility, or veterinary setting.
  • Certification in pet first aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of different dog breeds and their specific needs.
  • Experience with positive reinforcement training techniques.
