Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in industrial HVAC? Johnson Controls is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Entry Level HVAC Technician to join our team in Oxnard, CA. This role is focused on supporting industrial facilities, including potential offshore or plant environments, providing you with a unique opportunity to learn hands-on from experienced professionals. You will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems critical to industrial operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior HVAC technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial HVAC equipment and systems.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems under supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning coils, checking filters, and lubricating moving parts.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are properly cared for.
- Complete basic documentation of work performed, including logbooks and service reports.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Support emergency service calls as needed, working alongside experienced technicians.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational or technical school certification in HVAC or a related trade.
- Prior experience in a labor-intensive role or industrial setting.
- Basic computer proficiency for work order management and reporting.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction safety certification.
