Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Family Court Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Family Court judges, clerks, and legal staff. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of court proceedings, managing sensitive information, and assisting the public with court-related inquiries. This is an on-site position requiring a strong commitment to public service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize court dockets, schedules, and calendars for Family Court judges.
- Prepare, process, and maintain confidential court documents, petitions, orders, and correspondence.
- Assist attorneys, litigants, and the public with inquiries regarding court procedures, case status, and forms.
- Attend court sessions to provide administrative support, including recording minutes and handling exhibits as needed.
- File and retrieve physical and electronic case files accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with other court departments, law enforcement, and social service agencies.
- Process and track court fees, fines, and other financial transactions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive court and personal information.
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones, data entry, and managing office supplies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in legal studies, public administration, or a related field.

- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
