Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Farm Workers / Fruit Pickers to join our team for a temporary, seasonal role. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in agricultural work, specifically focused on the harvesting of soft fruits. The role includes a crucial 88-Day Sign Off component, making it suitable for individuals looking to meet specific visa requirements. We provide on-site housing to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for our temporary staff. You will be working outdoors in various weather conditions, contributing directly to the success of our harvest season. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick and harvest various soft fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries according to quality standards.
- Pack harvested fruit into punnets and trays, ensuring proper presentation and weight.
- Monitor fruit quality and report any issues or diseases to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area in the fields and packing sheds.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and farm policies.
- Assist with other general farm duties as required, including planting, weeding, and crop maintenance.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily picking targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, sun, cold).
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality fruit selection.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in farm work, horticulture, or a similar outdoor labor role.
- Basic understanding of English for safety and communication.
- A driving license is an advantage but not essential.
