Job Description
Join FedEx Ground as a Warehouse Associate and play a crucial role in our package handling operations. This is a direct hire position for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to a dynamic team environment. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure packages are sorted, loaded, and unloaded efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from company vehicles, trailers, and containers by hand or with material handling equipment.
- Sort packages by destination, ensuring accurate placement onto conveyor belts or into designated areas.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to track movement and update shipping information.
- Inspect packages for damage and report discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate pallet jacks or other equipment as required (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 75 lbs without assistance and maneuver heavier packages with the aid of material handling equipment or co-workers.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Commitment to working safely and responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks).
