Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Fencing Installer Laborer to join our growing team in Moncton, NB. This role involves assisting skilled installers with all aspects of fence construction, primarily for rural and residential clients. You will be responsible for preparing sites, handling materials, digging post holes, mixing concrete, and ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are hands-on, and are eager to learn the trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe and efficient installation of various types of fences (wood, chain-link, vinyl, wire) for rural and residential properties.
- Prepare job sites by clearing brush, debris, and marking fence lines.
- Dig post holes manually or using power augers, ensuring proper depth and alignment.
- Mix and pour concrete for fence post foundations.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from company vehicles.
- Help set posts, attach rails, and install fence panels or wire.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project duration.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Perform general labor duties as required to support the installation team.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or a related manual labor field.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating hand and power tools (drills, saws, augers).
- Knowledge of different fencing materials and installation techniques.
