Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fleet Maintenance Coordinator with a strong technical background to join our Rio Rancho team. In this pivotal on-site role, you will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and compliance with rigorous safety standards. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage schedules, collaborate effectively with technicians, and communicate seamlessly with various departments to minimize downtime and extend the life of our valuable assets. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance (PMs) and corrective repairs for a diverse fleet of vehicles.
- Oversee the work order system, ensuring accurate data entry, tracking, and timely completion of all maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with fleet operators, drivers, and maintenance technicians regarding vehicle status, repair schedules, and operational impacts.
- Manage parts inventory, procurement processes, and vendor relationships to ensure the timely availability of necessary components.
- Assist in diagnosing technical issues and provide support and guidance to technicians as needed.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, associated costs, and comprehensive vehicle history.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within fleet operations.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in fleet coordination, automotive service, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance principles and repair procedures.
- Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology or a related field.
- Experience with heavy-duty vehicles and commercial fleet operations.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety compliance.
- ASE certifications (Automotive Service Excellence).
