Job Description

As a Forklift Operator at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in our fulfillment operations, responsible for safely and efficiently moving products within the warehouse. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will operate various types of forklifts, including stand-up and sit-down models, to load, unload, stack, and move materials. This role is eligible for a safety bonus, rewarding your dedication to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts (e.g., stand-up, sit-down, reach truck, order picker) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and racks.
  • Stack and retrieve products and materials in designated areas.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance (e.g., battery checks).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through scanning and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including manual lifting and moving of packages.

Required Skills

  • Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various types of forklifts (e.g., reach trucks, cherry pickers).
  • Previous experience in a large-scale e-commerce or logistics operation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
