Job Description
Are you a high school student looking for your first job experience? Target in Huntsville, AL is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals for a Part-Time High School Stock Clerk position with morning shifts. No prior experience is needed – we’re ready to train the right candidate! This role is perfect for students looking to gain valuable work experience, develop essential retail skills, and be part of a dynamic team. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our store is well-stocked and organized for our morning guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unpack merchandise deliveries, verifying contents against invoices.
- Efficiently sort and organize incoming products in the stockroom.
- Stock shelves, racks, and display areas on the sales floor with new merchandise.
- Ensure products are clearly priced and accurately displayed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and sales floor.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking as needed.
- Support store team members with various tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and product handling.
Required Skills
- Must be enrolled in high school.
- Ability to commit to morning shifts, including weekends as needed.
- Strong work ethic and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Capable of lifting and moving merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a retail environment (even volunteer work) is a plus but not required.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Good communication skills.
