Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual seeking a rewarding career in home healthcare? BAYADA Home Health Care is looking for enthusiastic Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our team in Newark, NJ. This is an incredible opportunity to provide essential care and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by the client's care plan.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's health status or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Ensure client safety and comfort while promoting independence.
- Accurately document services provided and client observations.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience for individuals requiring assistance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is highly valued, but not required.
- Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide certification program.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
