Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician with a strong focus on automated systems to join our advanced manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous operation, maintenance, and improvement of our sophisticated automated production hubs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PLCs, robotics, HMI systems, and industrial control networks, demonstrating a proactive approach to troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, with a strong emphasis on automated production lines and robotics.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on complex automated equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and industrial communication networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
  • Install, test, and commission new electrical components and control systems for automated machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes (NFPA 70E).
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of safer and more efficient automated processes.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing environment with automated systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control circuits, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
  • Experience with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Kuka) and vision systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Adherence to all safety regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or related field.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and data analysis.
  • Certification in specific PLC platforms or robotics.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
