Job Description
Chevron is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Petroleum Technician to join our team in Pomona, CA. As a Junior Petroleum Technician, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop expertise in various technical aspects of oil and gas operations. You will support senior technicians and engineers in fieldwork, lab analysis, and data management, playing a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in the setup, operation, and maintenance of various field and laboratory equipment.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests on petroleum samples (e.g., density, viscosity, API gravity) under supervision.
- Collect and organize data from field operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support environmental monitoring efforts and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Participate in routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues.
- Learn and apply industry best practices for safety, environmental protection, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, observations, and data collected.
- Undergo structured training modules to develop specialized skills in petroleum technology and related scientific principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of scientific principles (physics, chemistry, geology).
