Job Description
Are you passionate about video games and possess a keen eye for detail? Ubisoft is seeking a dedicated Junior Quality Control Tester to join our team in Centennial, Colorado. In this entry-level role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality for our upcoming console and PC game titles. You will work closely with development teams, identifying and documenting bugs, glitches, and other issues to deliver flawless gaming experiences to our players. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring professional to kickstart their career in the dynamic and rewarding video game industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases across various console and PC game titles.
- Identify, reproduce, and accurately document software defects and discrepancies using bug tracking systems.
- Provide clear, concise, and detailed bug reports, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact.
- Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing to ensure previously identified issues are resolved.
- Collaborate effectively with development, design, and production teams to communicate test results and issues.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and provide updates on testing progress.
- Learn and adapt to new testing tools, techniques, and game features.
- Contribute to the improvement of test processes and quality assurance methodologies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrable passion for video games, especially console and PC titles.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and execute test plans accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant coursework or certification in game testing or quality assurance.
- Previous experience playing a wide variety of game genres on multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with common bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Understanding of the game development lifecycle.
- Experience with different gaming peripherals and hardware.
