Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Luxury Brand Translator with a strong focus on fashion to join our global remote team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the voice of Louis Vuitton, ensuring our luxury messaging is accurately and compellingly conveyed across multiple languages. You will be instrumental in maintaining our brand’s prestige and consistency by translating a variety of content, from intricate product descriptions and captivating marketing campaigns to website content and internal communications. This position is 100% remote, offering flexibility while demanding exceptional attention to detail and an innate understanding of luxury fashion nuances.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate, localize, and proofread a wide range of content including product descriptions, marketing campaigns, website copy, press releases, social media content, and internal communications, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Maintain the distinctive Louis Vuitton brand voice, tone, and style across all translated materials, adapting content appropriately for target markets.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, e-commerce, product development, and legal teams to ensure translations meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Conduct thorough linguistic quality assurance checks and terminology management.
- Utilize Translation Memory (TM) and Terminology Management (TM) tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Research and stay up-to-date with luxury fashion trends, terminology, and cultural nuances in target languages.
- Provide linguistic consultation and support to various departments as needed.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least one other language (e.g., French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, Arabic).
- Minimum 3 years of professional translation experience, with a significant portion in the luxury fashion or high-end retail sector.
- Exceptional written communication skills in both source and target languages.
- Profound understanding of luxury branding, fashion terminology, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain brand voice and cultural relevance in translations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy.
- Proficiency in CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and localization platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
