Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Medical Gas Cylinder Porter to join our essential services team. In this stable role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and management of medical gas cylinders across our hospital sites. This position is crucial to ensuring our clinical teams have immediate access to vital medical gases, directly supporting patient care. Full safety training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical gas cylinders to and from wards, departments, and storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels of medical gas cylinders, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Perform visual inspections of cylinders for damage or leaks and report any issues.
- Organize and maintain gas cylinder storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Accurately record cylinder movements and inventory data.
- Liaise with clinical staff and other departments regarding gas cylinder requirements.
- Participate in mandatory safety training and continuous professional development.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies and procedures related to medical gases.

- Full UK driving license (desirable for inter-site transfers).
