Job Description
As a Pinterest Compliance Officer with a Regulatory focus, you will be instrumental in ensuring Pinterest’s adherence to a complex and evolving landscape of global regulations. This 100% remote role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of digital product compliance, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), consumer protection, and content moderation regulations. You will work closely with legal, product, engineering, and policy teams to embed compliance by design, conduct risk assessments, and develop robust compliance frameworks. Your expertise will help Pinterest navigate regulatory challenges and maintain its commitment to user safety and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, interpret, and advise on new and existing global regulatory requirements impacting Pinterest's products and services.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with legal, product, and engineering teams to integrate compliance requirements into product development lifecycles.
- Provide guidance on data privacy, consumer protection, and content moderation regulations.
- Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging regulatory trends.
- Prepare regular reports on compliance status and risk to senior management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role, preferably in the tech or social media industry.
- Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and consumer protection laws.
- Proven experience with regulatory interpretation and implementation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or relevant advanced degree (e.g., LL.M.) in a related field.
- Certifications such as CIPP, CCEP, or similar.
- Experience with compliance in a fast-paced, global technology company.
- Familiarity with content moderation policies and platform liability laws.
- Experience building and scaling compliance programs.
