Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Private Nanny for our family in Sunnyvale. The primary focus of this role will be school pick-ups and engaging our two children (ages 7 and 10) in after-school activities, homework assistance, and light meal preparation until our return. The ideal candidate will be punctual, responsible, have a clean driving record, and genuinely enjoy spending time with children. This is a part-time position, generally Monday to Friday afternoons, with potential for extended hours or occasional evenings/weekends if mutually agreed upon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely pick up children from school and transport them home or to extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with homework and school projects, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Organize and supervise engaging age-appropriate activities (e.g., arts and crafts, outdoor play, board games).
  • Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for the children.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized children's play area and assist with children's laundry.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of professional childcare experience with school-aged children.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal transportation with appropriate child safety seats (if needed).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or relevant education in early childhood development.
  • Experience with educational support and tutoring.
  • Knowledge of local child-friendly activities and resources in Sunnyvale.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish) is a plus.
