Job Description
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Regional Dry Van Drivers to join our team, operating out of the New Port Richey, Florida area. This exciting opportunity offers competitive pay at $0.65 per mile, along with paid layover and detention, ensuring you are compensated fairly for your time and effort. As a Regional Dry Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting general freight across a defined regional area, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role is perfect for drivers looking for consistent mileage, predictable home time, and a supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (dry van) in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport freight over regional routes, ensuring on-time delivery to various destinations.
- Manage and maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all required paperwork.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your tractor and trailer, reporting any defects or issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding load status, delays, and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of yourself and others.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight as required, using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting and damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Proficiency in operating ELD systems and other in-cab technology
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties associated with trucking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regional dry van operations
- Hazmat endorsement (not required but a plus)
- Familiarity with the Florida and Southeast regional transportation network
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time deliveries
