Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our General Medical Floor team at Marian Regional Medical Center. This full-time position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. As an RN on our General Medical Floor, you will be a vital member of our patient care team, responsible for providing direct nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions. You will utilize your clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and empathetic approach to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding our mission of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients on the General Medical Floor.
- Assess patient health status, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient assignments effectively.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Membership in professional nursing organizations.
