Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart your career in customer service and retail? King Soopers is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Retail Cashier Trainees. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive comprehensive, 100% training on all register operations. You’ll learn the ins and outs of providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and contributing to a positive shopping experience. We’re dedicated to equipping you with the skills and confidence needed to succeed as a valued member of our front-end team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in 100% on-the-job training for all cashiering duties, including operating cash registers and handling various payment methods.
- Provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally.
- Scan, weigh, and bag merchandise accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Assist customers with self-checkout terminals as needed.
- Learn and adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding transactions, security, and customer interactions.
Required Skills
- Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities.
- Basic math proficiency for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Customer-focused attitude.

- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., volunteer, school project, casual work).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
