Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to start a hands-on career? Signs Express Ipswich is seeking a motivated and reliable Signage Installer Helper to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience who are eager to learn the trade and work in an outdoor environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting our experienced installers with the fabrication and installation of a wide variety of signs, from vehicle graphics to large outdoor displays. This is a fantastic chance to develop valuable skills, contribute to visible local projects, and grow within a leading signage company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting lead installers with the preparation and installation of various types of signage (e.g., fascia signs, post signs, vehicle graphics, window films).
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment safely at the workshop and on job sites.
- Preparing surfaces for installation, including cleaning, measuring, and basic site preparation.
- Using hand and power tools under supervision and following all safety guidelines.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, both in the workshop and on site.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Learning and developing new skills related to signage installation techniques and best practices.
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients on site in a professional manner.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and genuine eagerness to learn a new trade.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work at heights (with appropriate safety training).
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions year-round.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Basic understanding of measurements (desirable but not essential, full training provided).
- Valid UK driving license (desirable, for transport to sites, but not mandatory for initial hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- No specific qualifications required; full, comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
- Previous experience with basic hand tools or DIY projects is a plus.
- A positive attitude, a proactive approach to tasks, and a willingness to ask questions.
