Job Description
Join Sylvan Learning of Stockton as a Student Tutoring Assistant and make a real difference in the lives of local students. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead tutors with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Provide individualized or small group support to students in subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, and Study Skills.
- Help students understand concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for tests.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and productive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to lead instructors.
- Maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
- Engage with students to build rapport and motivate them to learn.
Required Skills
- Strong academic background, especially in Math, English, or Science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and empathy when working with diverse student populations.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program (Education, STEM, Liberal Arts preferred).
