Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecommunications Network Engineer to join our expanding team in Bolton. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and high-performing telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation of all network services.
- Configure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Participate in network planning, capacity management, and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other IT personnel.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco or similar enterprise-grade network equipment.
- Knowledge of network security principles and practices (firewalls, VPNs).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-SP).
- Experience with SDN/NFV technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in a service provider or large enterprise network environment.
