Job Description

Are you passionate about baking and eager to learn the craft from the ground up? Panera Bread is seeking a dedicated Trainee Artisan Baker / Pastry Prep to join our dynamic bakery team in Reno. This is an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with little to no prior experience to gain hands-on training in artisan bread making, pastry preparation, and all aspects of a professional bakery operation. You will work alongside experienced bakers, learning traditional techniques, ensuring quality standards, and contributing to the delightful products our customers love. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced bakers and pastry chefs in the preparation of artisan breads, pastries, and other baked goods.
  • Learn and apply basic baking techniques, ingredient scaling, mixing, proofing, and baking processes.
  • Prepare ingredients, including measuring, sifting, and mixing according to recipes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Assist with decorating and finishing pastries and other items.
  • Learn proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
  • Receive and store inventory, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
  • Support the bakery team in daily operations and special projects as needed.

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (even non-professional)
  • A genuine passion for baking and creating delicious food
  • Food handler's card (or ability to obtain one upon hire)
