Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in extensive training programs to understand UPS operational procedures, safety protocols, and management techniques.
  • Learn to effectively monitor, manage, and optimize package flow on conveyor belts to meet service commitments.
  • Shadow and assist experienced supervisors in leading, motivating, and coaching a team of part-time package handlers.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, implementing solutions under guidance.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Accurately complete daily reports and administrative tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, senior management, and other departments.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to learn management principles.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 pounds (with assistance if needed).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a team lead or supervisory role (even informal).
  • A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
