Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Valve Repair Specialist to join our team in Pasco, Washington. This role offers the flexibility of both in-shop and field-based work, focusing on the inspection, repair, testing, and maintenance of various industrial valves. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure our customers’ critical equipment operates reliably and efficiently. You will be instrumental in diagnosing issues, performing hands-on repairs, and documenting all service activities to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests, inspections, and troubleshooting of various types of industrial valves (e.g., control valves, relief valves, gate valves, globe valves).
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, reassemble, and test valves in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and calibration devices for precise repairs and adjustments.
  • Conduct field service operations including on-site troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance at customer facilities.
  • Document all repair activities, including parts used, time spent, failure analysis, and final test results.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status, technical issues, and recommendations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with new valve technologies and repair techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the shop and at customer sites.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial valve repair or a closely related mechanical field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific valve types, such as control valves, pressure relief valves, or actuated valves.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., API 576, VR Stamp).
  • Experience with various testing procedures (e.g., hydrostatic, seat leakage).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for field service requirements.
