Job Description
Are you meticulously organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating functional spaces? IKEA is seeking a dedicated WFH Cabinet Sorter to join our remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing and organizing components for home workspace setups, ensuring our remote employees and customers have everything they need for a productive and comfortable environment. This is a crucial role for managing inventory and maintaining quality standards from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and meticulously organize shipments of home office components, including cabinet parts, desk accessories, and ergonomic tools, directly at your home workspace.
- Categorize and sort items according to IKEA's internal inventory system, ensuring efficient retrieval and accurate stock management.
- Perform thorough quality checks on all incoming and outgoing items, identifying and reporting any damage or discrepancies.
- Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and efficient home workspace sorting area, adhering to all safety and organizational guidelines.
- Coordinate effectively with logistics and dispatch teams to prepare outgoing shipments for distribution to employees or customers.
- Utilize basic computer tools for inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and communication.
- Provide constructive feedback on product quality, packaging efficiency, and process improvements.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures, especially those related to remote work and data security.
Required Skills
- Exceptional organizational and sorting abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong capacity for independent work and effective time management in a remote setting.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and communication platforms.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 25 lbs consistently throughout the workday.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home workspace conducive to focused work.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehousing, inventory management, logistics, or home organization.
- Familiarity with IKEA products, assembly instructions, and quality standards.
- Prior experience working in a remote or work-from-home environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
