Job Description

Join The National Trust as a Work From Home Archive Digitization Assistant and play a crucial role in preserving Britain’s rich heritage. This flexible, part-time position allows you to contribute to our mission by digitizing historical documents and records from the comfort of your own home. You will be responsible for scanning, cataloguing, and organizing a variety of archival materials, ensuring accuracy and adherence to our digital preservation standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate scanning equipment to digitize a wide range of archival documents, photographs, and artifacts.
  • Perform quality control checks on digitized images to ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Catalogue and index digital files according to established naming conventions and metadata standards.
  • Organize and manage digital assets within our secure archive system.
  • Identify and report any issues with documents or digitization equipment promptly.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
  • Collaborate with archive management staff on project progress and requirements.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Basic understanding of scanning and imaging processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workspace.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
