Job Description
Are you passionate about hair texture and eager to master the latest perm techniques? Ulta Beauty is seeking a motivated Junior Perm Specialist to join our dynamic salon team in Thousand Oaks. This entry-level position is perfect for a licensed cosmetologist who is ready to immerse themselves in advanced texture services, including modern perming, body waves, and chemical relaxers. You’ll work alongside experienced stylists, receive comprehensive training, and develop your expertise in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior stylists with all aspects of perm and texture services, from consultation to aftercare.
- Learn and apply various modern perming techniques, including spiral, root, and body waves.
- Prepare clients for services, ensuring comfort and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and salon environment.
- Provide exceptional client service, building rapport and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on current beauty trends, products, and services, particularly in hair texture.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs provided by Ulta Beauty.
- Manage product inventory for perm services and advise clients on appropriate home care products.
Required Skills
- Valid Cosmetology license in the state of California.
- Basic understanding of hair structure and chemical processes.
- Strong passion for learning and developing expertise in hair texture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented salon setting.
- Customer-service oriented with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform salon duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience assisting in a salon or beauty environment.
- Portfolio showcasing any foundational work or personal projects related to hair styling.
- Familiarity with Ulta Beauty's product lines and service offerings.
