Job Description

First Student in New Port Richey, Florida is actively seeking individuals, especially retirees, with no prior experience to join our team as School Bus Drivers. We provide comprehensive, paid training to help you obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities on a set schedule.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Maintain discipline and order among students while on the bus, adhering to company and school district policies.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, ensuring the utmost safety for all passengers.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and company personnel.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and on time, including route sheets and incident reports.
- Keep the interior of the bus clean and orderly.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Clean driving record.
- Patience, calm demeanor, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in a customer service role.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
