Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Medical Records Pharmacy Aide to join our team in New Port Richey, Florida. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of patient pharmacy records, with a primary focus on accurate data entry and systematic filing. The ideal candidate will support our pharmacy operations by ensuring all patient information, prescriptions, and related documentation are meticulously organized and compliant with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of prescription information, patient demographics, and other relevant medical data into the pharmacy system.
  • Organize, file, and retrieve physical and electronic medical records efficiently.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist pharmacy staff with record-keeping tasks and administrative duties as needed.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, legible, and properly coded.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in patient records.
  • Scan and archive documents, ensuring proper indexing for easy retrieval.
  • Contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient pharmacy workspace.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office, pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Pharmacy technician certification or enrollment in a pharmacy technician program.
