Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance including mowing, weeding, planting, and minor landscaping tasks.
- Assist with the upkeep of public parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities.
- Conduct basic repairs and maintenance on city-owned buildings and infrastructure.
- Participate in routine cleaning and waste removal from public areas.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors on various projects.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Learn and apply new skills related to municipal maintenance and public works.
- Contribute to a positive work environment and uphold the values of public service.
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all city policies.
- Basic communication skills.
- Positive attitude and a desire to contribute to the community.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Some experience with basic hand tools or outdoor work.
- Familiarity with the Pasco community and its public spaces.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License (or ability to obtain one).
