Job Description
Are you a high school student with a genuine passion for animals and a desire to learn about pet grooming? PetSmart in Orlando is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our grooming salon as a Pet Groomer Assistant. This is an incredible opportunity to get hands-on experience in a professional pet care environment, assist experienced groomers, and contribute to the well-being and happiness of our furry clients. If you love working with animals and are eager to learn, this role is perfect for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist professional pet groomers with various tasks, including bathing, drying, and brushing pets.
- Prepare grooming tools and maintain a clean and organized salon environment.
- Handle pets gently and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
- Assist with client check-ins and check-outs, providing excellent customer service.
- Sanitize grooming areas and equipment after each use to uphold health and safety standards.
- Monitor pet behavior and report any concerns to the groomer or salon manager.
- Support the team with general salon operations as needed.
Required Skills

- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must be enrolled in high school or equivalent.

- Previous experience interacting with animals (e.g., pet ownership, volunteering at shelters).
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and handling.
